In 1939, only after Poland gone as state (it was not marking of beginning WW2, it started for 4 years before of that events, just year before of this events Poland together with Germany divided Czechoslovakia; USSR was ready provide own protection, but Poland blocked it, it is how Germany got second in Europe military industrial complex and became strong military machine) and after Polish govt ran away from country, USSR only that events entered on lands which Poland occupied from 1920. This lands according to League of Nations (UN of that era) considered as part of Soviet Union. And no, it was not part of some secret agreement. This is also false.
