  1. Wtf?! When NKVD became ‘secret police’. NKVD means “People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs” or it modern terms — Ministry of Internal Affairs. Ministry ruled with misc stuff related to ‘internal affairs’, so from nurses in kinder-gardens to railroad workers — all that people were NKVD! And regular police on street they also were NKVD. Is someone called FBI as ‘secret police’? No. Here is same. Bartini blamed not for work with fascists, but in close relations with Tukhochevskiy, which was one of leader (as nowadays confirmed, not so long ago in Russia were declassified all documents) of conspiracy to overthrow and kill govt. And yep, Tukhochevksiy had relations with fascists (indirectly regards to ROVS). Is Bartini guilty? Unknown. Anyway nobody sent him to prison, he worked in modern Korolev city (right on border with Moscow, largest Russian city of scientists, capital of Russian space program) where developed Tupolev bombers and then during war in Omsk, where developed interceptors. But yeah, he can’t freely move to another city on holidays (from other side he even changed work, he itself went from work over bombers to interceptors). So, it is even more soft than home arrest.
