But, year ago Russia successfully tested nuclear reactor for space which developed from 2009 (and cooling system for it which developed almost 20 years). Engines were finished in 2016. So, it is possibly now to create spaceship which need just 3 month for Mars. First prototype will be launched somewhere in 21-22.

  2. In space all the same. In Russian space museum you can find soviet military laser pistols; were invented specially for situation if US decide to capture one of Soviet orbital space station.

  3. People filtered before they became cosmonauts. Not all people can be cosmonauts or accepted on submarine (by same reasons). So, there are no such problem a-priory, it solved from beginning.
