  3. You used the wrong example, USA to stress your point, as the country had benefited from free trades and globalisation for decades. Without free trades, few factories would set up in small towns in USA that offer no profits. Also, there would be no reduces of carbon emissions since USA relies heavily on oil and coal.

  6. You are mistaken. Most of South American countries, especially Brazil had chosen China. If all goes well between South America and China, South America could be as prosperous as ASEAN.

  7.  @rv8804  You are right that South America could not rely on shipping raw materials forever. So they, lead by Brazil ( a member of BRICS ) were keen on belt and road initiative. Also, China bought 20 planes from Brazil, preventing that airplane company from being bankrupt and hostile takeover by Boeing. They have chosen China because they believed they could be as prosperous as ASEAN, unlike been poor and under-developed in the backyard of USA.

The US has one of the dirtiest and most protected political and economic policies that reduced the demand for more dollars. It would be hard to promote complex domestic manufacturing due to weak technical know-how and unfavourable labour laws to the manufacturers.

  18. Perhaps after seeing how USA destroyed Japan economy in late 1980's to early 1990's that Latin America lost trust in USA. Their distrust were proven correct when USA unlawfully confiscated Russian personal assets, foreign reserve, sanctions and frozen accounts. Also, freely print tons of money and raised interest rates that affect the world economy. At least China played the "games" according to international rules, unlike USA bended and broke established rules to it's liking. A factor that Brazil Lula planning on putting his eggs in China basket is because that China is more trustworthy than USA.

  21. USA thought that with the rising living standards of China, it would change from Communism to Democracy or implode like Soviet Union. It did not, much to the dismay of USA. During these time, USA disregarded South America and regimes changed their countries. Now these countries distrusted the near bankrupt, bully MAGA USA and chose the rich, cooperative and generous China.

  22. USA spent too much money, trillions waging wars ( direct or proxy ) and regimes change around the globe. USA is a net importer for most things necessary, thus it lost the trade wars against China. US businesses deemed transitioning back to USA for production ( MAGA ) too expensive.
