  2. Depends on one's vantage point. The US saved my parents from genocide because of their intervention during the Vietnam War, as a result they got to come to the US. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the American occupation in Vietnam. That's how I see "the greatness" of America. But today, it's not so great because of like you said, the divisiveness of the country because of politics, and especially Congress where Republicans are only there to obstruct any kinds of progress, and democrats have no spine to stand up to them, which is having dire effects throughout the country. Yea, we're not so great because of that.

To be fair, progressives in Congress are in a tough spot being surrounded by a bunch of corporate bitches like the Corp dems and Republicans, and they are constantly getting pushed back, and they have to compromise a lot of their agenda just to get anything near done. We need to educate the dumb mass and we need to elect more progressives to Congress.
