  1. One of my favorite examples of how the CCP misunderstands US politics was when they invited Nixon to a return visit to China AFTER Nixon had resigned as President. Many US China analysts concluded that the CCP thought that Nixon was the head of a faction in the US Government and that the CCP having Nixon visit China again would strengthen the hand of the faction led by Nixon.
