I advocate abolishing the Senate, getting rid of the Presidency, and merging the US House of Representatives and the Canadian Parliament into a Parliament that covers all of North America. Oh the Governor General has to go too. The North American Parliamentary Republic needs neither a President or a Governor General. Given how Global Warming is proceeding, we may all be moving further North anyway.

Gabby-c4x GG is counterpart of Presideny because GG is prepresentatibe of the Monarch, head or state just as the President is. No President therefore no GG. The Canadian Prime Minister corresponds to the US Speaker for the House; However, a Partialmentary system has a role of "Speaker of the House"who polices decorum in the House. Not quite sure how to handle that function.

@ The PM is the head of the government, but the GG is the head of state, or more precisely the representative of the head of state who is the monarch. This is why Canada is said to have a form of Constitutional Monarchy.

@Gabby-c4x Go back to the neginning and read carefully, "The North American Parliamentary Republic needs neither a President or a Governor General" why would I put those in the same sentence they served differeny purposes as the Command and Chief?
