  1. Perhaps using a ratio of military to civilian deaths could help estimate Ukrainian military losses. The civilian casualties in Ukraine are well documented by multiple sources; therefore, we can consider the civilian casualty numbers as a reliable number. The squishy part will be the ratio of civilian casualties. If there is a reasonable multiplier then you could use that to estimate Ukrainian military casualties. I should note that casualties is always a larger number than deaths given casualties in military parlance means soldiers who can no longer fight, and that maybe due to wounds as well as deaths.

  8.  @xoxou5388  Yes, I had no desire to be contentious. My question was sincere. I would like to a good fix on casualties on both sides of this conflict. I suspect they are both horrifying.
