  1. You correctly reported that China is using ASEAN countries as an intermediary to export to the US. That will make exports from China from that ASEAN country lerger and also make exports from that ASEAN country to the US look larger. Overall it will appear as through imports from China to the US are dropping while imports from that ASEAN country to the US are rising. People then report that the imports from the ASEAN country to the US are replacing imports from China of when in fact the goods imported from the ASEAN to the US are the exact same goods manufactured in China. You reported these facts separately when un fact they are the same.

  2. The tariffs are in fact a sales tax on the US consumer and is a regressive tax that benefits the wealthy at the expense of the rest of society. It is a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. Nothing good will come from these tariffs
