  1. We have not done a good job of second-guessing the Ukrainians when they asked for weapons. suggest we defer to their judgement of what they need. They already have experience flying Sukhoi Su-25 designed to provide close air support for Soviet Ground Forces. If you can effectively fly Su-25 in the battle field environment then you can fly A-10.

  2. I feel sure that the Ukrainians can rebuild Marioupol, but showing Hiroshima from 75 years ago versus now provides little encouragement. Based on the Hiroshima example, it will take a generation to rebuild Marioupol. I hope the Ukraininas get the investment funds needed to rebuild.

  3.  @AstroGremlinAmerican  I agree. I felt the comparison failed to capture the magnitude of the destruction. A comparison of Hiroshima after the storm bomb versus say 10 years later would have been interesting. Or perhaps Dresden or Berlin immediately after the War and then in the 1960s would have been interesting. In any case, the rebuilding of Germany and Japan was aided by a lot on investment. The Germans and Japanese deserve credit for what they did themselves to rebuild, and the Ukrainians show every bit as much determination and drive to be able to rebuild. However, they will need funding, and hope that the countries who have given them weapons will also provide reconstruction assistance rather than tell Ukraine that they are on their own after the War ends.
