Ukrainians should have little difficulty maintaining Abrams engines because Ukraine was a global repair facility for Russian fighter jets and the Ukrainian mechanics can easily learn to manage the jet engine that powers an Abrams tank. Also the kerosene used as fuel in Abrams tanks is what is used to fuel jet planes. Kerosene requires less refining of petroleum than gasoline does. All this talk of jet fuel makes it sound exotic but actually it is one of the most commonly used petroleum distillates. About half of the world consumption of kerosene is for lighting and the rest is for jet fuel
