Tanya your condition is not your "fault" because that suggests that there you did something wrong. The important thing is to understand that you have the ability to respond (the responsibility) to heal yourself. I had to struggle with alcohol and other drugs because I was self-medicating. That went on for twenty (20) years before I could stop. Even after that I have had breakdowns that thankfully never caused me to start drinking, but I had to get medical attention, and I take some very powerful psychoactive medicines prescribed by my doctors. I have an irregular brain chemistry that people in my family have and that my son has too. Nothing to be ashamed of and people should know about it so they can identify the condition when they see it in others, and so that people can see it in themselves and respond in ways that will help rather than hurt them.
