  2. 😂Fun fact, the method for making optical fibres resulted from the failures by Corner to make very small glass tubes from very pure glass. Most efforts to create the tiny glass tubes failed when the sides of the tube collapsed and made a tiny thread instead. It occurred to the engineers that the failed tubes could be used as optical fibers.
