  1. If people should look at the American Revolution as a good analogue for the Ukrainian War. The most significant correspondence is the will of the American Colonists to fight. Also, the US had the backing of France who was the world power opposed to Great Britain, and the French Navy prevented Britain bringing the Royal Navy to bear on the American Colonies. Great Britain employed mercenaries, the Hessians, just as Russia had used mercenaries like Wagner Group. The American Colonies largely avoided head-to-head battles of massed troops but relied greatly on what we would now call guerilla warfare. The Amercian did win "conventional" battles and they were central to the surrender of the British Army. The Ukrainians will surely continue partisan fighting even if Russia succeeds in holding territory or even gaining territory.
