I find it impossible to believe that the Russians could ever completely subdue Bakhmut because defenders can hold out in the Soledar Salt Mines just as they did in the Azovstal Plant. In addition within the Soledar Salt Mines the temperature is constant at 14–15 °C which means that any troops there will have an easier time keeping warm.
