  1. Ironically, Trump is going to help Europe rely less on the US. Trump thinks it will assert US dominance, but it will have exactly the opposite effect. This is similar to Trump's insistence thst NATO countrries pay the required 2% which at the time was part of Trump threatening to leave NATO. It looked totally idiotic at the time, and it was idiotic. However it proved helpful when NATO was required to confront Russian invasion of Ukraine. The US needs to understand how important other countries are to the US. Perhaps the best way for the US to learn that is to get all the other country to prepare to defend themselves without the US and against the US if necessary.
