I also see the reality we as humans have to be responsible to the ecosystem, that responsibility has proven to be most effective when hunting is used as a management tool.   17. You can keep playing the denial game, but that is just ignorant. Wolves are the only year around predator the elk have here. Bears do play a small role in the early spring, but only for a very short period of time. Cats play an even smaller roll. Hunters are limited to bulls for the most part, which is why we can hunt, and the herd still GROWS. Populations are managed by their breeding stock numbers and when you lose a high percentage of pregnant cows, the numbers decline. Learn a little biology

  18. Actually there is a bunch of proof, if you took more than two minutes a day and did some research, it's all out there. Lions mainly hunt deer, our elk herds were healthy BEFORE the wolf was introduced, they are the only new player in the system, and the studies also prove they are at fault for the decline and instability in our elk herds. Wolves actually take their worst toll in the winter, when they target pregnant cows, our breeding stock is being systematically wiped out.

Our elk numbers are crashing from one simple reason, over predation of females and calves by wolves, our aging elk herd is created by one thing, over predation of cows and calves by wolves. Our elk will not recover for one reason, over predation of cows and calves by wolves. The simple reality is this, we need to thin out these wolves to acceptable numbers that do not crash the rest of the entire ecosystem

These people do not consider it an attack unless someone dies, and every other excuse they can dream of is exposed. There is a dead wolf in Montana that was shot while attacking two hunters, the fact the wolf lost, does not make it anything but an attack. Two ID hunters were run out of the mountains while being stalked and pushed by wolves even after warning shots were fired and direct contact was made

Their claims that the wolves are now decreasing is also a biased claim, few of these wolves starve, instead the surplus wolves disperse, still leaving the dwindled herd under excessive predation while spreading disease and excessive predation to other areas. Eventually, and this is validated through the Russians extensive research, they move to domestic animals and human attacks increase.
