OK. I agree about "time" with Julian Barbour, the British physicist, and now apparently you.
But you could have used notional counting of events, such as tolls of your local church bell, as a measure of time. And even though the church bell didn't in reality clang non stop, it would be reasonable to imagine it did, and every time you could notionally hear the toll, you would add that event to a tally. Comparing notionally the number of times your church bell could be heard as you started to watch the video with the tally you would deem to have accumulated since the video was uploaded, you would have realized that you no longer need to concern yourself with the elephant's well being as it had been rescued in the conceptual past. Kind of like Hopi Indians might think that the rescue is actual, and your heartbeat relates to something potential which may never happen, so foged 'bout it.
