The only thing I could complain about is that the vegetation on Crete is too sparse. Don't they have enough rain?

@PeriferijaPeriferije Yemen has some unique architecture and interesting landscape. Before you go, it is advisable to do some research on how to stay safe there, especially for a woman traveling alone or in a very small group. I am sure the vast majority of the people there would be friendly, but there are likely to be exceptions due to cultural differences.

Re Sirsky... If everything is going as planned then Ukraine planned to lose.
2
Bilateral security agreements between Ukraine and any European country west of Ukraine don't work well because of the geography. If Russia were to attack a western European country but not attack Ukraine, it would have to somehow overfly Ukraine or take a sea route to get there, bypassing Ukraine standing in between. Such a scenario is difficult to imagine, which then means that it's in everyone's interest that Ukraine remains neutral.

Germans think that with Allies like the US, who needs enemies.

Biden got lost in the jungle because the stage wasn't like a podium he gets lost on in America. And that's why he couldn't make it for the G20 photo. Biden hasn't been seen since, and his team are still looking for him. The jungle is home to some dodgy animals, like jaguars, anacondas, crocodiles, and piranhas, and really big rats called capybaras.

I see Charlie Sheen has lost some of his sheen.
2
The six pilots didn't want to join the war anyway. They and their families must be relieved.
2
Zelensky should stage a show with people who look like Zaluzhnyi called "Will the real Zaluzhnyi please stand up." (Some commenters may remember a similar TV serial show from the 60s in the USA.)
2
@binusd9817 This time there will be a problem. People in SA don't eat too many cookies, and they are short of Nazis.
2
Looking at the people behind Alex, there isn't any food shortage in Cyprus.
2
Since Russia has trained Navy dolphins, Ukraine should train frogs to attack Crimea. Then they could claim any landing by such frogs is a true amphibian assault.
2
It's most likely to be an inside job or a group like the Azovs.
2
The editor of WELT who resigned because of Musk's opinion piece, Eva Marie Kogel, can now sit at home doing Kogel exercises in support of EU's authoritarian regime.
2
All those Ukrainians asserting they will be swimming in Crimea in the foreseeable future can have their dream realized. I am sure Russia will allow any and all tourists to vacation there, as long as they aren't armed and dangerous.
2
iEarlGrey could be next. And Patrick Lancaster. Maybe Brian Berletic (The New Atlas) if is from the UK.
2
Biden might actually be in the 19th century.
2
Not surprisingly, the new French PM is not taller than Macron or Napoleon.
2
After the two chairs were set up, Trump could have invited Macron to a game of musical chairs with himself and Zelensky, and arrange it to have Macron be left out. It would have been more fun than just telling Macron to scram.
2
Trudeau accusing someone (conspiracy theorists) of undermining MSM is itself a conspiracy theory.
2
Bahrain in Yemen? They must be providing oil for the coalition, 'cause they don't got no weapons. And Seychelles? They must be sending overbooked tourists to fight. I don't think Seychelles has an army, but they probably have a Coast Guard. So it looks like a wedding or a honeymoon in Houthi controlled areas of Yemen is not recommended at this time. Don't laugh, that area is actually quite scenic, mountainous, green and treed.
2
You mean that Finnish figure skater?
2
France can buy uranium from Russia.
2
The EU must be really naive. They think that imposing sanctions on Russia will make its army to turn around and go home. The EU can't be so stupid, so sanctions must be just a symbolic gesture.
2
Ukrainian Kuleba's diplomatic dexterity consists of throwing a temper tantrum, and threatening Bulgaria with repercussions from Big Brother USA.
2
Presumably, the place was insured.
2
Inadvertently, Zelensky included the Riemann Hypothesis Zeta Function formula in his peace formula, thereby ensuring his peace formula can never be solved.
2
I understand Baerbock wanting Putin to do a 360° instead of a 180°. Putin will be more disoriented after a full turn.
2
There is a St. Petersburg in Florida. Maybe Zelensky plans to retire there.
2
Lloyd Austin is correct. Without American support of Ukraine, Putin will be successful. That is true. However, Putin will also be successful with American support of Ukraine, but Austin didn't mention that because to him it was irrelevant.
2
If the US makes Greenland the 51st state, where on their flag are they going to put the 51st star? Right now the rows are symmetrical.
2
The US government believes the arrest of Gonzalo Lira is free speech by the Ukrainian authorities. So we have a situation here where we don't know whose free speech is more important, Ukraine's or Lira's.
2
Are you sure that Zelensky isn't using plain old fashioned Old Spice?
2
Can't blame Zelensky for demanding something for saving Freedom and Democracy of the Free World.
2
Belittling Lula is going to work great for Washington.
2
In an ideal world, Fico would reply to Merz, "Four score and four years ago we had a mustachioed Kanzler threaten us, and we allowed him to prevail. We shall not surrender this time."
2
It would be naive to think that Russia will give up on its goals of preventing Ukraine from joining NATO and denazifying and demilitarising the country. Russia is likely to adopt Israeli tactics of retaliating excessively against drone and missile attacks on its territory. And Zelensky will not agree to anything where he gives up land unless the USA makes a strong commitment to enabling Ukraine to take it back later, plus a promise of NATO membership.
2
Somebody will be sorry that Zelensky didn't negotiate at this time to try to retain Odessa and Kharkov. Once Russia takes control of those regions, it's nearly 100% certain they will not give it back.
2
If Varadkar doesn't have any more gas (petrol) left in his tank, he should refit himself for batteries. He might have to recharge himself every three hours and won't be able to leave metropolitan areas, but that is the kind of sacrifice people make when relying on large batteries.
2
After the war, if Podolyak's legal status with Russia is in good standing, Russia will allow him to visit Crimea as a tourist.
2
Countries dropping out of the anti-Yemen coalition most likely view the project as another Afghanistan, and right now it's politically inconvenient to bring home dead bodies.
2
First Ukraine saved Europe (and Western Freedom and Democracy), so now it's on to Africa. I bet Africa is looking forward to regaining its Freedom from Russian occupation.
2
With house prices in London, a $Billion doesn't buy as much any more. And if the interested buyer is Zelensky, they will double the asking price.
2
That's a great hotel room Alex has got in Budapest, with a great view of Danube and the city.
2
Countries around the world aren't taking advantage of opportunities. They should say to the US "give us $10 billion and we will say we stand with Ukraine."
2
Yes. I wish we could hear more from her.
2
He really wasn't all that great a cook.
2
Those NYT casualties figures must have been supplied by Budanov or Podolyak.
2
But Ukrainians already do have "a map that is more sustainable for them." It's called Google Maps, and if you look for Ukraine you will find that Crimea and the Donbass are still firmly attached to Ukraine. Even the land bridge is not delineated. So Ukraine can't complain about Russia redrawing the map of Europe.
2
I noticed that the Georgian President's surname has "bich" in it.
