  3. Let's add another way of looking at things. The Ukrainians (mostly Russian Ukrainians) in the four Republics aren't complaining that they lost land to Russia. They are happy being Russian. The ones who are complaining are Kiev and perhaps others in western Ukraine, but those people never lived in the four Republics and it's not their land. They get to keep the land they live on. Russia is not taking land whose residents don't want to be Russian.

  4. Based on this session, one can conclude that Trump has his own private MAGA agenda, which he campaigned on. What he didn't acknowledge during his campaign is that he would be governing within constraints imposed on him by those who helped him get elected, which seems to be the Israel lobby (which includes donors like Adelson, and other donors), and the war coalition (which includes the MICC). Yes, the MICC may have preferred a Democratic nominee, but they probably told Trump that they won't prevent his win, but in return he has to pay his dues.

Human nature is such that a large number of us believes what we want to believe because of various influences, the primary being people's values and objectives, and the abhorrence of the opposite becoming the reality they don't want. That's how some Germans believed they will win, even in 1945. This may have some evolutionary basis and justification. If you give up on your beliefs, you will surrender. And in our evolutionary history, there would have been cases where the side that persisted despite apparent likely loss eventually won, passing on that behavioral trait to their descendants.

The 5 republics (oblasts) voted to join the Russian Federation, and the referendums were watched by outside observers who attested to the integrity and fairness of the vote. The West or Zelensky can't force them to join Ukraine against their will.

  9. Well then I think a reasonable end to the war in Ukraine is possible. Reasonable in the sense that it is actually possible given the realities of the current state of the war. What a currently possible end of the war would allow is to leave an independent Ukraine, free to align itself with the West or the EU. If the war isn't ended now, the Russians will take Kiev and there will essentially be no free Ukraine.

  10. Zelensky lined up Cabo Verde to join in his peace summit. Cabo Verde is a group of islands out in the Atlantic Ocean west of Senegal. They can't possibly have an interest in the Ukraine conflict, which means someone is paying them to do this. Since Cabo Verde doesn’t have anything useful to prop up Ukraine, it may have to send its volleyball team to fight the Russians. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, Cabo Verde has arguably one of the best volleyball teams in all of Africa, and I think they have a good chance to beat a top Russian volleyball team.

That would be insane, and it's no longer a feasible stratagem. Trump was surrounded by a coterie of people who didn't share his beliefs and since Trump does listen to people working for him, they persuaded him to not carry out his wish. It's worse than that. Trump wanted to drain The Swamp, but only succeeded in like 5% of what was needed. The whole establishment was against him, including his own people. People like his VP, and the entire DOJ. And even his key political and military Secretaries and advisors in his Cabinet.

  22. The Muslim states don't realize they have the military power to enforce the creation of a Palestinian state. If they got organized and coordinated, they would definitely overwhelm Israel. For sure they would need Iran to join in, and if Turkey went along, it would be all the more certain. Under no circumstances would the US annihilate all those countries, so the only obstacle would be that Israel might use nuclear weapons once foreign troops entered Israel.

  28. If Zelensky doesn't agree to a deal made by Trump and Putin, the only alternative will be that Russia will continue its advance on Kiev and force its capitulation. From the point of view of the West, it would be preferable if Kiev remained independent.

He says that Israel will continue to do exactly what it has been and is doing now, regardless of what anyone in the world will do, until such time when he thinks Israel has "undeniably won." Israel's actions do not support what he said. His actions unequivocally indicate that his goal is to exterminate all Palestinians, or if that's not possible, then get rid of as many Palestinians as possible. And if that's not possible, then to push Palestinians into Egypt or into the sea. Suppose 75% of Congress and Senate plus some senior people at the White House joined hands and told Israel to stop this humanitarian tragedy, do you think that Israel will have the power to destroy them personally or individually? Israel wont, because now that they are acting as a group, if Israel started to threaten their careers individually or as a group, the American political elites would have the power to damage Israel's interests, and maybe for a very long time. Plus those wanting to make Israel stop killing innocent families now and forever, could challenge Israel by threatening to expose the corrupt relationships between Israel, American government, and AIPAC or other lobby groups. And finally, Biden's demand to build a marine dock into Gaza so the US can deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians is not only deceptive, it is just as fake as Netanyahu's pretense of only wanting to eliminate threat from Hamas. The project won't be finished for six months and by then more than 100,000 of additional women and children will have died. And the dock might not be finished on time, if ever.

  31. A large part of the difficulty the Europeans have in accepting any Russian conditions is that they believe they have the upper hand in the power relationship regarding Ukraine. This leads the Europeans to demand that Russia submits to whatever the West wants.

  33. Mass killing of civilians is not self-defense. Rees-Mogg is a paid-for pro-Israel advocate. And there is no reward of Hamas by giving Palestinians their state. That is a fake argument. There simply isn't a valid reason against establishing a Palestinian state. And besides, once there is a Palestinian state, Hamas will have no reason to attack Israel again.
