  2. Hopefully this will lead to Germany restarting use of coal. Many of their production plants are able to use both gas and coal. There are coal fired power generating plants in Germany that are sitting idle, and can be started up.

  8.  @serboslav1389  Well, there is a benefit. Once Serbia joins the EU, it will likely receive net annual financial assistance payments of about five billion Euro. Hungary has a similar population and gets something similar. I don't know how countries qualify for IMF financial support, but Hungary gets more than eight billion EU. For an economy the size of Serbia's, this is significant.

  9.  @PlaYer-sn5or  I can't speak for Serbs, but most people don't want to leave their homeland. It's where they grew up, and where their ancestors are buried. People develop a special attachment to their country.
