@Non-humanXx_xX I am an immigrant who came to America over 20 years ago, and I can tell you that I had never thought that in America a hospital can hold your child against your will without treatment. My then 13-year-old son was hospitalized with a horrible case of reactive arthritis (making him unable to walk due to pain) - a complication after a virus (it was in 2017). He was held there against my will for 21 days (way before Covid)... and to make me listen and obey, the doctors at Children's called CPS on me in the first few days of hospitalization (they hospitalized him KNOWING they would NOT be treating his arthritis but said nothing to me at the time of hospitalization). There was no mention of arthritis in his discharge papers either, NOT one word. My son had lost a lot of weight due to a virus when he could not hold any food for days. So they held him in an EATING DISORDER clinic with arthritis feeding him horrible food which was making him sicker, did not listen to my objections and my begging to move him to another hospital for treatment. They diagnosed him with osteoporosis (due to other medical mistakes made in his first two years of life), told me that it was because he was not eating milk and wheat products which he was allergic to, but in the discharge papers they wrote that they "looked for anything under the sun and could not find anything wrong with him other than low weight". It was a lie. In addition to osteoporosis, they found fused neck vertebrae and limited mobility. Because of lack of treatment, his reactive arthritis became chronic and now he has two diseases. Medical professionals know that treatment of arthritis worsens osteoporosis and vice versa. Same for food. He has been on crutches since age 18. Oh, after 3 months of "being treated" by an eating disorder specialist at Children's outpatient clinic, we were finally told that he had NO eating disorder. Imagine all the money they've made in that hospital and from all the outpatient visits. I could not do anything against those crooks, I had CPS on my neck. You need to hear the reason why they did not treat his arthritis, which was the very reason why he was hospitalized - THEY DID NOT HAVE A PEDIATRIC RHEUMATOLOGIST IN THEIR HOSPITAL. How lovely is that? I was under the investigation of CPS because the doctors told them that I was not feeding my son and that he did not have any health problems. After 6 months they had to close my case because they realized the doctors were unprofessional. I got a severe case of depression and my own health went downhill. My younger son, who is autistic (he was 5 at that time), had to spend almost a whole month at his grandma's, because he could not go to the hospital with me every day, I was crying every day from despair and humiliation. Remember, when you bring your child to a hospital, you lose some of your rights as a parent. Always keep that in mind.
