This is the only English-speaking news channel that I've seen so far that gives fair coverage of this conflict. Huge respect for them for doing this. Seeing this devastation tears my heart into pieces.

@WindsofChange great grandparents of these children CHOSE to have a state of Palestine. Look at the map of 1917 and compare it to the present-day map of this land. Now tell me, if someone came to kick you out of your home... oh wait, the European settlers came and took the land of the indigenous people, so I guess you have an idea what it is all about. So, if someone comes to your home and tells you to get the heck out just because you are German/English/whatever, how would you react? The children are being born in a small strip of land, and have never felt free in their lifetime, and what do you expect a nation like this to do? If you are cornered, are you going to think about the LEGAL WAY to get out of the situation, or will you fight for your life using any means available to you? The Palestinians were promised a state and never got it, unlike Israel, of course. Do I approve of terrorism? NO, I DO NOT, but I cannot approve of what Israel does to the Gaza Strip either. Collective punishment is what the Israelis are doing right now, and it is a war crime.

I doubt it because if you were a true Christian, you would not approve of the "eye for an eye" doctrine, and you would not be okay with collective punishment, especially the killing of children by a state that claims to follow international law. We are talking about two different things. You are only looking at what happened in the last week. I am telling you why these events happened in the first place. You are refusing to recognize that it is the Israelis who created the whole situation by kicking the Palestinians from the land they had occupied for over 1,500 years. Instead of getting a state, as they were promised, the Palestinians were "allowed" to live on a narrow piece of land where they were put in survival mode. In such circumstances, no democracy, no fair laws, and no peaceful coexistence with their neighbor are possible. Finally, how would you feel if you and a million of your fellow citizens were given 24 hours to evacuate after most of your infrastructure was already bombed and you did not have access to water, food, electricity, or medicine? The Gaza-Egypt border was also closed because the Israelis decided to bomb the area near it; how unexpected is that? The Israelis gave the impression of acting within the law, but in reality, they are disguising the fact that they want to genocide the Palestinians in Gaza. We can only hope that the Israeli government did not allow this attack on their soil on purpose to have an excuse to exterminate Gaza. The fact that their intelligence, supposedly the best in the world, failed to see the attack is very suspicious.

@urbanroots84tt45 Were the roads bombed, and access to electricity, food, gas, and water cut off before the evacuation of 1.5 million Americans started? I am sure those leaflets had a clear direction of where to go, so in that place, the Palestinian refugees could enjoy NO basic life necessities. Am I too emotional? You bet I am. I don't know why you are not emotional when you know little children are dying by the hundreds in Gaza every day. I just don't get you, people, and I am not even a Muslim or Arab.

@skontheroad I am a homeschooling Christian parent, and I set the rules in my house together with my husband. No one can dictate to me how I should be raising my children and I will not be imposing my rules on other nations or families. Are you sure you know that the Jewish Orthodox schools teach their children in Israel? I would NOT want to take my kids there either.

The guy is saying the children in Gaza are dying because of their parent's choice, so logically, it should be the same for Eastern Ukraine, where the Russian-speaking population sided with the Russians. Oh, you don't look at it this way? That's good because NO CHILD DESERVES TO DIE because of their parent's choice. I hope that's clear.

@ThomasCranmer1959 I will not change my perspective on it just because you said it, LOL. I know the facts. The Palestinians were promised a state, but instead experienced a forceful relocation from the land they had occupied for almost two thousand years to a tiny strip of land that could honestly be described as a low-key concentration camp. Didn't Hamas rise up in protest of these living conditions? I believe so. As a Christian, I am not taking one side unless it is the side of innocents being butchered.

@urbanroots84tt45 Have you ever been in a situation when you, your family, and a million of your fellow citizens had to evacuate in 24 hours? Do you even understand it is not possible, especially with destroyed infrastructure (roads) with no access to water, food, electricity, and medicine? Where would you evacuate if the only country you could escape to, closed its border? You would call it genocide, and that is exactly what it is.

@urbanroots84tt45 wow, that's great. Now, the people in the South can drink but are still starving because the food spoils without electricity, and they cannot get care in hospitals when they get sick with food poisoning, etc. Big improvement.

@urbanroots84tt45 okay, fair enough. I may not have shown sympathy for the peaceful Israelis in this thread, but I certainly feel it and have expressed it everywhere I could. How would you know this? You automatically assume the worst in me. We are getting bombarded by one-sided reporting like most Western countries, so it was a relief to find a news channel with another perspective. To be fair, even in this thread, I wrote that Israelis are no less evil than the Palestinians, so I am clearly not taking any sides in this conflict. We need to talk facts, and we know so far, over 700 children died in Palestine. THIS IS my biggest concern right now. How many children have died in Israel? Do you have this information? The last time I checked (two days ago), it was around 24, and even this information was hard to find. Sure, no number is small when it comes to children dying, and it is a terrible tragedy, but still, we can see that the Israelis have killed a lot more children in Gaza. Yet they convince everyone that they follow international law. This is what I find disgusting.

You guys need to prioritize Ukraine over your needs and send more money there. Ukraine is fighting for you and your safety. Why should we in America pay for wars? It is just not fair. We also have a lot of poverty and our healthcare is even worse than yours, yet we have to send billions to other countries. NOT FAIR. Tighten up your belts and do your part.

Right, they deserved to die because their parents chose to side with the Russians. I know, and God knows that ALL CHILDREN'S LIVES MATTER. Zelenskiy once said that he thinks that Ukraine is like Israel. Now I know what he really meant. The situation has changed dramatically in Ukraine in recent days. Very soon, with all attention shifting to the Middle East, no children will be dying in Ukraine, because finally a peace agreement will be signed.

@urbanroots84tt45 Thank you for the kind words and wishes, but I am not in Palestine. I am a Christian in North America of Slavic descent. Why do I say North America instead of naming the country? I am afraid that my "controversial views" will get me in trouble, and I have two boys with disabilities. My own pain and suffering make me more compassionate towards other people's pain, and I pray this conflict ends soon. The only solution I see to end this conflict is freeing the Palestinians from Gaza and letting them have their own state on one condition: that Hamas will be outlawed. It is doable. If there is a will, there is a way. Thank you again for your kindness! May God reward you for it, and may you and your baby be well!
