  49.  @jordank1489 Your comment needs clarity. But I will try answering. The sacked P&O ferry workers believed their jobs were safe!i f RMT keep on striking.the government is proposing bringing agency workers to take RMT workers jobs or to make it illegal for them to strike. Leaving the EU has not strengthened workers job security. The Tories want to smash the unions as does labour. Our capitalist employers would love to make us work for next to nothing. Making profit and maximize profit is at the heart of capitalist economic. They can increase profit by cutting your wages and making you make more hours for less wages. P&O didn't get their cheap labour from the EU, Workers in the EU have many rights which our government now want to take away. P&O went outside of the EU to bring in cheap foreign labour . For working class foreigners the wages P&O they are giving them i.( below our minimum wage) feels like a pay increase to them as they are more exploited in their own countries than UK workers are in theirs. This is the reasons that companies can soon find people to take over UK workers jobs. For fcuk sake I don't no any British workers who will work the fields. Yet the British workers will do fcuk all to stop the exploitation of foreign worker. where are the unions?, why don't they demand better pay and working conditions for field workers so that UK workers will find the work attractive. Basically the Unions are full of shit. Corbyn wanted to nationalize the railways which the RMT want. But the RMT leaders advised their worker to vote to leave the EU. We can assume many RMT workers voted Tory. Now the Tories and Starmer will not entertain nationalization.
