There's polling that shows that Americans overall favor capitalism to socialism 2:1 and that Democrats are less polarized on the divide than Republicans, so Bernie calling himself a DS and Hillary calling herself a capitalist at best played to her advantage and at worst was a small factor influencing some voters one way or the other. More likely is that voters favored Bernie's social policy and interpretation of corporate influence in politics.
