  4.  Mister Guy  No one said anything about having nothing to fill some of the roles cops currently perform. Maybe you'd've realized that if you were being less emotional yourself.

  5.  @thepolishlatinofromphilly9709  "Without people to enforce the law there's no reason for people to not break it." 1) Police are not the only ones who enforce the law. 2) Laws are made by a relatively small class for their benefit. Failing to enforce laws that favor that class is not going to inevitably throw society into turmoil.  3) Laws are not necessarily moral. Many of them are not. 4) As I responded to the other person, no one is saying that certain functions of the police should not be retained but within more accountable, more democratic structures. Saying that abolishing the police would be like destroying all order in society is the same kind of overreaction as saying that abolishing slavery means that no one will work. Obviously that's not the case.
