Part of the problem with people like PSA is that they have way way too much faith in the "institutions" of America, so even if Trump is evil and incompetent, they can still support the Venezuelan coup because they trust the military, the generals, the Department of State, and the CIA to uphold standard procedure, not realizing 1) how infected those institutions are with Trump's malevolence—Bolton, Pompeo, Abrams—and 2) that those institutions have always been horrible, at their core, and often conducted themselves in tragicomically incompetent fashion.
