@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews All right lib, enjoy your brunch.

You need to disabuse yourself of your delusions about Kamala.

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews I'm sure "common decency" is the depth of your political thinking. I don't doubt that at all.

How many hundreds of times have they said vote for Biden (particularly in swing states)? The idea that we can't critique Biden or recognize who he is until after the election (at which point people like you will assign a new arbitrary start date for acceptable criticism) is infantilizing and counterproductive. It assumes that the only way the stupid voters will do their job and shut up and vote blue is if they're essentially hoodwinked into it, lied to, treated like children who can't know the truth till they're old enough. How about treating people (including yourself) with a modicum of respect? How about being straight and honest in all circumstances- especially when it comes to supporting bourgeois ghouls like Biden, whose interests don't align with the working class anyway?

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews It's an onomatopoeia.

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews I could also say that's piffle.

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews The point is that "trumpism" still has a hardcore and dangerous base - militias, QAnon, Proud Boys, KKK, etc - which isn't going away when he loses but will linger and find new political figures to attach itself to - perhaps ones more amenable in the longterm to Republican voters. The point is that there is and never was any return to normal or decency. This is the world now, and it's one in which excplicit fascism has had its biggest toehold in America since the 30s. If you think that's going away because Biden recites some platitudes about decency and bipartisanship, you're more deluded than he is.

@Captain BP&J She's different and maybe worse than a terrible person - she is a technocrat through and through. Her worst policies were based on a simplified "rational" calculation in the interest of the smooth and cost-effective functioning of the state, come what may to flesh and blood people. At least with a terrible person like Trump, it's obvious, but the technocrat cloaks their deleterious policies in seemingly rational justifications, so that well-meaning people like OP think the competent technocrat may still lead us to "a better future."

*without any real resistance from liberals (maybe even from nominal progressives)... The left has been resisting neoliberals for decades.

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews Support what man?

@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews What man do I support?

He's already said he'll veto progressive legislation like M4A if it crosses his desk. Maybe he'd buckle to public pressure. Maybe he'd fall in line with his donors and provide some excuses why a duct taped, epicycle-ridden ACA is better.

"Prosecute anarchists."

This is what brainwashing does to people. Stupid, two dimensional thinking.

Biden's been saying for a year now "the fever will break" and that he'll be bipartisan. Either he's ideologically delusional, sundowning harder than we thought, or he's full of crap - and I honestly have no idea which is true.
2
Come on, I think we can lower the bar a little further than that.
2
@msabccbscnnoanfoxnews You need to inject some materialism into your worldview and not rely on seeing politics through personality.
2
Except that polls routinely show support for single payer, free tuition, defunding the police, raising the minimum wage, and other leftist policies - so policy isn't the problem.
2
That's not going to happen. Not with Sam, not this election, especially given the Greens' recent ineptitudes.

@hjarra1584 I see. You think Bernie's a leftist. E: I don't want to gatekeep the left. Bernie's a part if that movement. But he's also a political figure with a few sketchy (non left) views. And because of his position he's had to make compromises, including his soft touch with Biden. He's not a good approximation for the rank and file left.
