  1. No, actually it won't be. Minimum wage increases will be phased in over years. People need money today for overdue utilities, medical bills, rent, and other expenses. Even a sudden increase to $15 an hour would be insufficient. The government had an obligation to ensure people were taken care of during the lockdowns. They failed that. Increasing wages (to a level below what they should be if wages kept up with productivity) does not excuse or remedy the government's negligence. We should've had $15/hr regardless, not as a consolation prize so that Biden Dems can put a favorable spin on austerity.

  2. Biden just compared his push for the $15 minimum to Florida, saying maybe it can be accomplished before 2026. Most people have rent due before then.
