@animetiddyfan7348 Just to hammer this point home: if a word like "socialist" can be drained of its negative connotations (especially for young people), there's no reason a harmless word like "propaganda" couldn't be used as Sam is using it.

@animetiddyfan7348 Socialism didn't start with Bernie Sanders. He's starting from a place where American people had already experienced the WTO protests, Occupy, the Great Recession; if "socialism" as a term wasn't being bruited about, class consciousness and the desire for economic justice certainly were. And Bernie did change the meaning of socialism, or rather he relied on an already altered meaning. Moreover, reclaiming "propaganda" would only involve removing the stigma of the term, a task you admit is less than changing the meaning. This kind of thing happens: "queer" is another term that used to be pejorative but has more recently been reclaimed and stripped of its negative connotations, by and large.
