  1.  @matt6951  No, actually the Republicans' steadfast refusal to do the bare minimum is the problem. Because of them we've gotten 1 stimulus check in how many months? 6? Most other countries already mandate recurring checks. Playing some stupid brinksmanship game isn't the Democrats' fault this time, even if I do think there are flaws in their relief plans. The other parts of the HEROES act are needed as well, like a rent moratorium and expanded benefits - things that, again, other countries have already managed. A $1200 one time check isn't going to cut it for a lot of families and businesses.

  2. Because the other parts of the stimulus are also important and he's clearly (been) putting politics and his ego above the welfare of the country, and because he only backpedaled after the blowback from the public and stock market.

  3.  @matt6951  The HEROES Act extends the eviction moratorium and makes it universal instead of qualified, and we only have the current moratorium because of the CDC, not Congress. The stimulus checks aren't the only form of relief in the bill, as I've pointed out already, and it provides funding for crucial infrastructure during the pandemic. It's not just about a one-time, short term fix, which, if the Republicans wanted to, could've been passed and been made recurring months and months ago. Have you even bothered to read the bill (or anything about it), or are you just shooting from the hip and hoping you hit anything? Seems like the latter.

  4.  Steven  538 has Biden up 9.4 nationally but leading in many key states, and even places like Florida, Arizona, and North Carolina. Iowa and Ohio are basically tied. Looking like a blowout as of right now, but those numbers are volatile. National polling doesn't really matter at this point.
