And the same people who want to pump more guns into the system are the same people who want militarized police. The militarization of the populace (or at least a small, vocal segment of it) has gone hand-in-hand with the militarization of the police, and we are no freer for it.

@TheFatPunisher No, that's true. There were no jets in the 19th century. But citizens did kill other citizens and "destroy their own country." That's what a civil war is. And when civil wars happen in the modern world, people don't revert to muskets and cannons for nostalgia's sake. They use the weapons and strategies that are available, which today means jets, tanks, infrastructural sabotage, etc. You want to also respond to how lied about how we need guns to make women safer, or do you not have a glib response for that?
