I'm also not sure why neoliberals is in quotes. Maybe you just don't know what the word means. But many neoliberals, some of them Democrats, have been working to suppress votes and not get more people involved. There are clear cases of disenfranchisement, like the voter purges in NY in 2016, there's the fact that candidates like Clinton and Biden purposely did not create get out the vote campaigns because they feared doing so would help their opponents, and there's the more nebulous but no less real fact that they create political agendas which do little to nothing to appeal to people's material needs, thus depressing the vote and promoting apathy.

There's no evidence suggesting these "hard hitting" ads did anything to move the needle. They're meant to pander to gullible liberals so that that gang of racist Republicans can have somewhere to collect a check. Why would they be playing those ads in California, where Biden is in no danger of losing? To ingratiate themselves with liberals and get funding. It's a grift, and always has been. Look into their funding. They're taking that money and kicking it back to themselves and massively overpaying people to eg collect clips on twitter. All the money Democrats siphoned off to LP would've been better spent on down ballot races, charity, civic mutual aid, literally anything else.

Voting for Ralph Nader in New York didn't change anything. At all. If Sam had voted for Gore, nothing would've changed. If all New York and California voted for Gore, nothing would've changed. Is the EC really that hard to understand?

@Mark Borok They took in 39m from liberals in Q3, funneled that back into their own firms, have suspiciously high overhead (35-89%), and are charging things like lodging to the tune of several hundreds of thousands of dollars to their company. All that for some stolen Twitter memes and ads any schmo with After Effects could make? Come on. Recognize a grift when you see one.

Virtually everything on the Trump/GOP agenda comes from these ghouls, from blanket and virulent racism to literally stealing elections. They're the people who came up with the strategy of undermining mail in ballots. They're the ones who helped Bush steal the election. They're the ones who supported the Iraq War and the War on Terror. These weren't "poor policy desicions." They were finely calculated, disastrous policies designed to undermine democracy, entrench American hegemony, and enrich the top 1%. If you're watching them so carefully, you don't need me to tell you that they took in $39m from largely liberal donors - money that could've been spent on downballot races, covid relief, literally anything actually useful. Instead - as you already know - much of that money got funneled into their own private firms, which previously had had little income; had a staggering 35% overhead expenditure for an outfit that edits together cheap ads and trawls Twitter for memes; and has been significantly overpaying for things like "research services," a common money-laundering tactic. You're also aware that their overhead has been as high as 89%. It is baffling to me how Americans can time and again sincerely believe that the best people to fix a mess are the very people responsible for it - whether it was Geithner and other Wall Street bankers during the crash, Biden fixing criminal justice reform and race relations, or LP somehow correcting everything they helped build in the modern conservative movement.

Weird reading of history. For one it's very America-centric. Secondly, the "jaundiced eye" cast on the USSR resulted in the disastrous Cold War arms race that without exaggeration nearly ended the world at least a few times, and may yet. It had also been the opinion of FDR and Henry Wallace, who might have been his successor, to maintain positive relations with the USSR. Instead we got pugnacious, small, and petty Harry Truman kickstarting the post war empire and regime of CIA terrorism. I don't know how you get from that to your LP analogy.
