@underballbutter I think that besides a quantitative difference in change each is proposing (eg how much the wealth tax ought to be) there's a more subterranean, and for that reason more potent, qualitative difference. Bernie in 2016 sounded a lot like Warren in 2019, but 2020 Bernie has developed and expanded the progressive agenda. To you it may not seem like a big difference, but as MLK pointed out, the (white) moderate is keenly sensitive to the pace of change, and though they may recognize the need for change, it must be so gradual, delayed, negotiated, and defanged of any expedited justice as to preserve their essential comfort. Warren also represents an appeal to competence as the chief virtue of governance. And I think in running Warren us merely representing aspects of those forces - reluctant progress (just enough to stanch the possibility of insurrection) and manageralism. The fact that Warren and Sanders share policies obscures the fact that they are ideologically distinct. Perhaps that's where the confusion comes from. You're thinking she's essentially Bernie Sanders, so why run? But she knows, and her constituents know, and Bernie Sanders better fucking know, that she is no Bernie Sanders, so why wouldn't she run? She's in a different if parallel lane.

@underballbutter First off, you need to knock off the misogynistic, hateful bullshit. Not only is that reflective of an entitled attitude, but it isn't going to do Sanders's side any favors.
Second of all, you can't think of Warren as Sanders-lite. They share certain priorities, but their ideological commitments are distinct, and without reading her mind, I'd guess that Warren believes Bernie's a fine messenger, but she's a better steward. That may just be it. But who knows, and what does it really matter? She doesn't owe you or me anything. Those Bernie supporters she "stole" may've just been more progressive anti-Clinton voters.
What really matters is that people organize, join unions, join protests, and, on the side, make a case why Bernie Sanders is better for an environment for and vision of working class movements than Warren. Her motives are immaterial.
