  1. It's not the MSM narrative; it's Donald's narrative. He talked about doing a muslim ban all through the campaign. He even consulted with Giuliani regarding how to go about it legally (not like that helped). But then when he actually fucking does it, people try to make up excuses. This is how bigots operate. When they can't openly discriminate, they create laws that indirectly target minority groups based on some overlapping criteria, thereby giving them a degree of deniability. Recall the "literacy" tests of the Jim Crowe era or the voter suppression laws of our own day. In the case of the former, politicians argued that the tests were necessary to ensure a population of educated voters, which sounds, at least on the surface, like a good thing, right? But we know what the actual purpose was. In the case of the muslim ban, the bigotry is more obvious because Trump had to choose a very large overlapping criterion: place of origin. (It's illegal to ban people just based on their place of birth or residence, but apparently the "law and order" candidate doesn't respect the law.) Trump is also trying to pass a blanket ban off as an anti-terrorism measure, even though he didn't ban Saudi Arabia, the place where the 9/11 attackers came from. Again, the reason is obvious: we want the Saudi's oil and Trump wants to protect his business dealings in the other non-banned countries.

  3. Banana factories? Really? You're not a serious person. If you go around the country and appear on television saying that you want to ban muslims from the country and your first step is to ban muslims from some countries (but say Christian refugees are ok) because that's what you think you can get away with, I think it's fair to call the intent and effect of that order a muslim ban.
