I've never understood how realism can mean: spending 54% of our discretionary budget on the military engaging in perpetual war with an enemy we can't defeat and can barely define letting people in cities drink poison water letting infrastructure crumble refusing to provide adequate care to the sick and needy failing to provide a good education for children ceding control to the wealthy etc Somehow that is "realistic." It sounds more like a nightmare I'd like to wake up from.
