@MHO999999 Isn't it a little telling that very online Bernie supporters got a nickname almost immediately, but we still don't have a catchy name for rabid irl Trump supporters? Deplorables isn't catchy, and it died after a week. Trumpets is pretty lame. Trump cultists is too descriptive and direct. Ditto for white supremacists.

Many of the people Trump appeals to, lacking alternatives like unions and mutual aid, feel they are politically helpless and abandoned, that a natural right and power has been stripped from them, and only someone like Trump can restore their whilom glory. And by claiming to represent them, they come to see him as one of them, despite all evidence.
