+Danilo Vega Case in point, some guy is in the news for having his "life ruined" because he was doxxed after marching with the Nazis. But he explained that he is not a Nazi, he's just a "moderate Republican" who wanted to protest the removal of pro-slavery Confederate leaders' statues.
Moderates don't have any ideology beyond self-preservation. If they can preserve themselves and their property by aligning with the far right, they'll do that every fucking time. They did it during the French Revolution. They did it during the revolution of 1848, dissolving democracy and erecting an emperor. They did it during the 1930s in Germany, and in countless other places across history, Chile, Argentina, Iran, China, Italy, Spain. Moderates pave the way for the radical right and fascism. We're witnessing it right now in America. Also look at the deal Theresa May was willing to make with the DUP, thereby legitimating them, just so that she and the Tories can cling to power.
There's a Survey Monkey poll out today showing that Americans are nearly split between who caused the violence in Charlottesville. Nearly the same number think it was the "alt right" white supremacists as think it was the counter protestors.
