Gosh, I wonder if there's more to that quote that puts things in a context less dire than anti-vaxxers are claiming. Here it is: "“We know that the two doses of a vaccine offer very limited protection, if any. The three doses with a booster, they offer reasonable protection against hospitalization and deaths. Against deaths, I think very good, and less protection against infection.” "Bourla said Pfizer is working on a new version of the vaccine. Experts have said current COVID-19 vaccines may need to be updated to ensure they are effective against Omicron and future variants." Reuters

@clintonkildepsteen3982 Which is why in the full quote he says that three doses (the original two plus one booster at half dose) offer very good protection against death and reasonably good protection against infection. The boost of antibodies helps combat Omicron, but that variant, or future ones, may need a completely new vaccine. We've known all along that if the virus is allowed to mutate, it could escape current vaccines. I don't know how this is surprising.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 None of that demonstrates the vaccines aren't safe or effective. To do that, you'd have to cite rigorous (preferably RCT) studies. The things you're bringing up were maybe ok reasons to have doubts about the vaccine when it first rolled out. But at this point they're non sequiturs. Big pharma is greedy and a drain on society. However, that can be true at the same time it's true that they also manufacture useful treatments. Those aren't mutually exclusive.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 Why would I bother? These aren't relevant to the issue. None of them establish whether the vaccine (and there are two others besides Pfizer's) are safe and effective. What you're doing is a version of the genetic fallacy. Pfizer did bad things; therefore its vaccine doesn't work. That doesn't follow. If you can point to research showing the vaccines are unsafe and ineffective, that's different. It would also be useful to show that the preponderance of evidence favors that verdict, since you can almost always find a stray study claiming to prove any hypothesis.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 Sorry, it looks like youtube deleted the comment where you linked to the studies. Maybe try just including the title and I can look it up.
2
@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 That's so weird, your comment got deleted again. Can you keep trying? I'm really interested to see those studies.
2
@CatMeepRatAKMP Except it was, with the full quote. Strange anti-vaxxers would do something dishonest like quote mining.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 Maybe you can contact youtube support? This is really weird. I know you're able to back up your points with sound data and studies. It's not like you're just making this stuff up, regurgitating things you uncrirically read on social media, and using a bunch of irrelevant points to distract from addressing the real issue.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 Sorry, still don't see those studies.

@CensortubesOwnsRedcomet0079 Lol is that it now? That's all you can do? You're the one making claims. I'm asking you to support them. First you tried by making non sequitur arguments. Now it's by asking me to prove stuff...If you can't back up your case, at least be honest and just say so. Why the filibuster?

@Rzn8B58 It's interesting that you referenced the CDC. I wonder if they recommend that those already infected get vaccinated. Here, why don't I try a thing anti-vaxxers like to do. Ahem You can still get covid and spread it even if you have natural immunity. "A recent study showed that unvaccinated people who already had COVID-19 are more than twice as likely as fully vaccinated people to get reinfected with COVID-19." Mayo Clinic

Cool story bro. You should publish it in PNAS or Lancet.

@GodHelpUsNow777 Can you point me toward a peer-reviewed study showing that the booster is ineffective?

Lol

@mattm597 How did you manage to say not one true thing in that entire comment?

@amsb4dafunk558 You know what actually poses zero threat to children? The vaccine. Not one child has died from it. Vaccinating children helps to protect them individually, their cohort, and their community.

@acegood7058 lmao keep crying anti-vaxxer

@acegood7058 Do you keep upvoting your own comments? Need a little participation trophy? 😂
