  1.  @margueritewilliams5864  You do know that paying taxes is not a stipulation for voting...right? To vote you have to: 1) Be at least 18 years old, 2) be a US citizen, and 3) be a resident of your state. That's it. All this stuff about taxes is nonsense you made up. If you make it about paying taxes—guess what?—you end up disenfrachising a lot of people: the homeless, people who don't work or don't have to file. Moreover, there's a disparity between people who file taxes and who actually owe tax. Either way, there is no federal voting requirement regarding taxes. Period. Point blank.

  3.  @margueritewilliams5864  I read what you said, and it's not correct. Paying taxes is not a requirement for voting, so why are you bringing it up? It has nothing to do with the conversation about voting rights for prisoners. You could, theoretically, earn no income and pay no taxes of any kind and still have the right to vote, because taxes have nothing to do with voting, nor should they, for reasons I've already stated. Being a citizen who is a legal resident above the age of 18 is sufficient. You don't need to tack on some requirement about taxes, which may only end up being redundant, muddying the waters, or potentially excluding some people.
