  2. N Marbletoe You have the Internet; you can look up her remarks about how civil unions are the work of "homosexual extremists." She's said that a government study on harassment for sexuality in schools could cause children to question their sexuality. In 2004 she picketed in protest of civil unions. Not same-sex marriage; civil unions. Perhaps like so many politicians (ahem, Clinton) she "evolved" on the issue when it was no longer politically advantageous to oppose it. Odd that one can't find information about this on her website. It's almost like she doesn't want people to know about it. She's also being congratulated for her non-interventionist approach to foreign policy, which is sort of a fiction. You can find remarks by her saying that while she opposes regime change, she favors quick, tactical operations, which to me doesn't sound all that different from Obama's drone and SEAL approach to the US war of terror. It still perpetuates the American police-state and hegemony. Unlike Sanders, she voted in favor of the NDAA and SAFE. Govtrack's evaluation of her voting record ranks her as a centrist. By all means, give her credit for her actions that do comport with Progressive ideals. But be cautious about holding her up as a progressive champion. Her record just doesn't support that.

  4. Agree with so much of what she said. The one thing I would have liked to have heard more about was her comment at 6:50 that we should focus on defeating ISIS and Al-Qaeda. This seems contrary to her anti-interventionist stance. How does she propose that we defeat these groups, especially since all our attempts heretofore—arming other groups, bombing, drones, invasion, spec ops—have generated more instability and resentment toward the US?

In her answer she blamed the Russians and the reaction to her emails (biggest nothingburger ever). The interviewer followed up: And you didn't handle it, and that was a mistake on your part?   25. Kind of obvious what's going on right now. Brazile has known about this for some time and she's only now coming out with this publicly. The Democrats recognize that Clinton is damaged goods and want to distance themselves from that legacy without actually reforming the party. They wanted to see if the establishment Democrats could reclaim the narrative, but they've failed to do so. Now they have to do what they would rather not: admit some collusion but make it the fault of a few bad actors, not the party as a whole. Once Schultz is replaced by responsible officers (Brazile and co.) the party will be sufficiently reformed. Nuh uh. This is nothing but the most belated of damage control.

  26. Their reasons apply much better to Bernie without sacrificing genuine progressive policy. He wins his Senate races by huge margins, by 40% in 2018, capturing more rural and Republican areas. He's also known for working across the aisle, not in some phony show of moderation, but to secure real, material benefits and protections for people. Where's that interview between Cenk and a former Republican senator where the senator talks about how effective Bernie was at gaining wide support for legislation, even going so far as to leave his name off of bills to improve their chances of passing?
