I feel like skimming over Nazi wins in WW2 in order to curb nationalistic pride is actually a bad thing, you already teach them why Nazi's were the bad guys so long as you hammer that home while teaching them the skill of the German army during WW2 I think it would encourage a good sense of national pride. I as an American know full well of the crimes committed by the USA during Vietnam and find them shameful, but I also recognize how great our troops were at holding their positions like the story about how an MG gunners hands were mutilated and his spotter was blinded by a frag grenade; they were forced to swap spots and while one shot the gun the other called where the enemy was coming from and helped guide his gun. Or the war with japan, where a Dentist mounted an MG and held off wave after wave of Japanese troops while the medical staff evacuated all the patients; He was later found slumped over the MG with his body riddled with bullets and dozens if not hundreds of Japanese fighters lying dead in front of him. I don't agree with the use of agent orange or the way we treated Japanese Americans, But those there is impressive feats and instill pride in me; not for war crimes but to be as good as these men if even there came a time that my country needed me.
