Even if the even if the reverend mother had an affair violating her vow of chastity, it still doesn't make sense to shut the building down; just continue as best you can without the reverend mother until a new one is picked. Either the bishop is punishing everyone for 1 nuns mistake or the bishop is lashing out at an entire conclave for some personal reason we aren't aware of. But considering the circumstances I'm more inclined to believe the nuns.
