@mdhhthh8593 I graduated in 2015, I was never taught this I was only taught the general concept "your free speech is protected by this law". They did not elaborate on it like this video did, our education system is dropping the ball as I've learned more from YouTube videos and browsing the internet than I've ever learned from school.

We made it so government couldn't punish you or censor you for speaking your mind because it was comprised of powerful individuals who could do so, yet we don't apply the same principles to other powerful individuals such as those who own large social media platforms simply because they don't fall into the category of "Government". This is wrong, regardless of what institution powerful individuals fall under they all should be subject to the 1st amendment; otherwise powerful individuals who want to censor someone or an entire group can as it's easy for them to avoid regulation by simply setting up in a private institution rather than a public one.
