Look at any polls on the issue. Ukrainians want to continue to live in a free Ukraine and are largely willing to fight for their freedom. That's not surprising considering the mass deportations and torture in the occupied oblasts. Would you, as an Ukrainian living in a place like Melitopol be fine with the humiliation, the death, the torture? Would you, really? You can always Google what happened in previously occupied areas such as Bucha, Izium, Lyman, and think whether you'd like that for you and for your family.

@prunabluepepper What does International Law have to say about sovereign countries joining military alliances? Remind me? Why did you think Ukraine wanted to join NATO? Maybe because Russia was not the best neighbor - and ended up proving it in Georgia, twice, and in Ukraine, thrice? Do you really think that NATO/Ukraine had any interest in invading Russia? Many in Eastern Ukraine did not like Zelensky. How does Zelensky's track record in Eastern Ukraine compare to Putin's track record in Ukraine?
