  1. Also, don't fool yourself that you are "safe" even with a signed contract. You might get fired the next day. Always be prospecting. You should have 1-2 interviews each month just to keep your skills up and you should constantly look on the market.

  2. Most people in IT have no idea how to interview. This applies to both HR and technical. They just pick some random "senior" guy and they do a canned interview.
