  2. Bundaberg Brewing are a great company. Years ago when Bundy had bad flooding 100s of us firefighters were sent up to assist with the recovery. Bundaberg Brewing kept a constant supply of their products turning up at our base (a local football field) every day for weeks. Not just us either but the same happened at the army camp, police, ambulance, SES (State Emergency Service) and others as well as the evacuation centres. It would have been 1000s of cases all up, all free, all to help those who were there to help Bundy recover. This was also from a company whose production facilities had gone under and had no hope of replacing this stock in the short or medium term and yet it came to us, not to retail sale. I'll never forget that.

  3. Never assume that all Aussie 4x4s are not rustbuckets, we do waaay more beach driving than you guys so buy from at least 500 clicks inland, dusty not rusty. Now yes we get a good deal on 4x4s is=n as much as we have a good selection but prices are not exactly cheap here and if you look t American stuff it's almost all parallel import so for an F250 you are looking at US$150,000 for a base model. Want a late 80s early 90s IROC Camero? that will be US$20,000 please for a half way decent one and not that much less for a shitter. Harley guy? Well, we do have dealers (my local is the oldest non-CONUS Harley dealer in the world) but prices start at around US$27,000 for a base big twin and about 15k for a sporty. Pajero here not Pahero, they wondered why local-based Sth Americans wouldn't buy them 🤣🤣🤣 (if you get it you get it). You won't see a lot of Crewmans, they are rare(ish) even here. Even better, the Adventura, a 4x4 V8 Holden wagon. Up until four years ago there were no AU market 'stangs, they were all imports. Note the insane (for US) pricetag. The Rover IS a Prelude, not a look-alike. About mileage, we tend to do a lot more miles than you guys, it's a big, empty country and especially the first ones from Alice, there are plenty of cattle properties out there where the front gate is 80 miles from the house and it's 300 miles to town, no joke. Next time go to www.carsales.com.au, much better range of vehicles.

  4. Ploughed? Mate, there are maybe 3 ploughs in the entire country. We only have very limited snowfields where it is going to snow every year and those are mostly on mountains or the high plains of the Snowies and central Tasmania. Katoomba/Lithgow and the area gets some snow most years but that was a heavy fall for the time of year. When it does snow the Blue Mountains are transformed and it's beautiful. The big issue is the black ice, the vast majority of Aussie drivers are not used to ice on roads and it turns into a big mess. Heck, the last time I heard the "road ice warning" buzzer on a car it took me 5 minutes to work out WTF it was 😀

OK lets get some Aussie stuff laid out. } Target and K-Mart are separate companies to their US compadres but share common ownership and direction, both have been here forever and do very well indeed. On the other hand, Aussie Wendys has NOTHING to do with the US company. In Australia, Wendys is a "middle of the mall" franchise that sells coffee, shakes, hot dogs and doughnuts. It is not at all connected to the American burger chain. We have no Walmart (thank God for that!), around a dozen and a half Costcos (which we love), no Tractor Supply, or Home Depot. Our Lowes is a working man's clothing chain and our True Value Hardware (a purchasing collective of individual-owned stores) has no connection to the US juggernaut. Burger King here is licensed to an Aussie company called Hungry Jacks, there are two remaining actual Burger Kings in Sydney. (the conflict between them is a story in itself). IMHO Hungry Jacks beats the hell outa Maccas and I wish they had the capital when they needed it to compete because, as the advertising says, "the burgers are (honestly) better at Hungry Jacks." Likewise, 711 is wholly Aussie owned, they license the name as do several petrol/gas companies and many in the food game. Just because the name is the same doesn't mean it's the US company.

  7. TBH I am shocked that TimTams are not being marketed in the US. I know they can be got at speciality shops but I mean in general. I think they would be as popular as Bundaberg drinks and probably more so. Yes we get a lot of paper wasps but not too many of the really nasty ones and thankfully, no Murder Hornets. When they say Brisbane they mean the greater BNE area including the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. The reason it is dear up here is Covid when so many people moved north to escape the worst of Covid. That women's family are fecking heroes. An EB is nasty, you need to act very fast and very calmly. You don't get taught how to pressure bandage a snake bite over there? I mean you lived in rattler territory after all. You can buy specific bandages here that have indicators on them to show when correctly tensioned. I thought they'd be standard everywhere venomous snakes were prevalent. I'm on the board of the local showgrounds (think County Fair) and the stuff people flush down toilets would amaze you. It's a large enough expense to feature in maintenance cost reports. That's the same world over, people are pigs. Maximus is a brand of Gatorade-type drink with the same electrolytes but 1/3 of the cost and much less sugar. Yes they come in large sizes but if you are outside working all day in 40 degree heat you need it. These ones aren't bad for you either. No one drinks these at a barbie, they are a drink for outdoor workers and tradies.

  8. The Christmas one is a special seasonal spiced ginger beer that is to die for. It's the ginger beer with cloves , nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon. The creaming soda is almost as good as A&W (which is the best in the world IMHO, we get it at Costco).

  9. They are screwing us by putting up shipping prices as well. The cost of a 40 foot (2ICU) container from CN to AU has shot up from US$800 to US$2400 in less than a year. It is hurting them as much as us because Aussie industry can now compete with Chinese industry due to crazy shipping costs. I can now but machinery made here at similar prices to Chinese stuff.

The 12 hour is a great race and there are classes for everything from Le Mans "Production Prototype" thu the list of greats from Lambo, Ferarri, Porsche, AMG and McLaren down to classes for stock (Brakes, tyres, roll cage and shocks is about all they do) hot hatches. They are actually a lot less "race car" than the Supercars as they need to adhere to various production class regulations, no spaceframes and CF body panels here unless it's on the road car. Oh and the dates are May 13 to 15

It all depends on what you think is ideal living. To me, it's a great place to go shopping but I'll stick to my little Queensland town of some 800 people for living.   23. I'll give you "pickup" but a truck is a heavy vehicle. I was amazed to learn a while back that aftermarket trays are not a thing in the US. A steel or alloy tray is so much more durable than a style side and is far more popular here. What don't we get? With the exception of Jeep and the Mustang, almost everything American.

  46. Some thi9ngs should probably be banned but for a country that values freedom so highly America is actually one of the most regulated countries on earth, the people just don't realise it. This is especially true when it comes to small stuff , regulation and bylaws of which there are far more than in most of the world. As for eggs, I refrigerate mine it's just that we are not forced to do so and until they hit my fridge at home I'd prefer they were not for the reasons listed in the video.

  48. The lights on the back of the SsangYong are high visibility tail lamps, Tasmania gets very heavy fog in which norman tail lights are invisible 20 feet away. The fog lamps are a no cost option so people in country areas and places where there is fog have them included. We do not talk about the Ford Capri. The Hi-Ace is a Toyota legend, it is the original "white van" here, everyone from the local fruit shop to the plumber and just about every courier had one. 92k is OK for the 'cruiser, they hold 100% of their value at the moment because the wait for a new one is between one and two years depending on specs. That one is market price even bone stock and it had a few extras so a good price actually. Not cheap but average.

Now that you mention it, however, Mc Cafe is a wholly Australian concept developed in Melbourne. And once again your comprehension appears to be letting you down because the only three companies I mentioned above that have no connection to their US parents at all are Lowes (which is in an entirely different industry, clothing), Wendys and U-Haul and no, none of those three have any connection whatsoever with the US companies of the same name. Lowes (USA) did try to enter the Australian hardware market as a 50% partner in Masters Hardware and lost several hundred million when it failed completely within three years.
