  3. Hard to say, the lock was full so they weren't hung up on anything. Once they flood steel boats go down fast.

  4.  @marshlanderdumarais264  It may have been yes. Considering a weed hatch should be above the waterline far too many boats seem to sink from faulty or badly fitted ones. The boat would need to be badly out of trim for it to start unless the side or sides of the hatch has a catastrophic failure. Never quite worked out how it sinks a few boats a year.
