  2.  @christopherweise438  They have created an unsolvable problem for themselves. The US has a declining birth rate and an aging working population, the gridlock over this is since the Obama era and is only now starting to manifest itself in the wider economy as labour shortages start to spring up. Not being able to have a rational conversation is a real problem there scared to death that the millions of immigrants get voting rights, there's something like 35 million with 11 million illegal in the labour market. If you look at the broader economic picture cosmopolitan states like California are streets ahead in GDP and appears to be responsible for the spread of Californication in the surrounding states not to say it doesn't have problems. Just through the pandemic you can see poor red states fall further behind economically and they were the most reliant on the migrant low paid and appear to be complaining the most about people not going back to work coz their supposedly lazy. If you block all immigration then the workforce that is present will migrate to better opportunity states again shafting the Red states.
