That's easy the Tories outsourced everything increasing its cost If you look at the NHS a lot of the money just hemorrhage out this way

We've been living on tick with the Tories for 14 years The 1st thing they did was put up VAT and lower CGT and corporation tax while subjecting us all to brutal Austerity
2
@garygreen1782 well there you go Cons for you don't forget to thank Hu nt on the way out
2
Who pays cgt? I'm well off and I don't, Sunak and Hu nt do though
1
He left an economic skip fire by instigating a 20 billion unfunded tax cut as a pre election bribe and to run a scorched earth policy to crater any chances of Labour having any leeway on spending. What a narrow minded pathetic man he was
1
@DB-lq6tt You've payed through the nose for energy and had the Treasury provide 72 billion in subsidies over the last year because Cameron abandoned Labour's insulation and renewable energy targets and you have the bare faced cheek to complain about Green investment that will move us away from the horrendous cost of being tied to GAS? WTF is wrong with you people ? do you not want cheaper energy and disconnecting from worldwide economic commodity shock? I got hammered for thousands over the last parliament as a home owing pensioner I don't care about the WFA. If the Tories had got in it would have cost our family dearly.
1
@DB-lq6tt by suppressing public sector pay you got an explosion in migrants filling posts accompanied by their dependants numbers not seen since ww2 Your also paying for increased housing benefit claims and income support through taxation by creating a low wage economy. That economy in turn produces less taxation leading to overall increases in general taxation to cover the shortfall

CGT won't crater the economy its a way for rich people to not pay tax
1
Osborne tried that and cratered growth causing more damage to the economy than the savings made. Small state doesn't work were left with a highly inefficient nhs due to lack of infrastructure investment and patching over problems with more staff Quote The UK has fewer CT and MRI scanners than comparator countries. CT and MRI scanners per million head of population
1
Working people don't pay CGT well of retirees like me don't pay CGT the likes of Hu nt and Sunak do
1
@dianecameron137 one who's sorted out his tax affairs, your paying cgt on selling 2nd properties primarily, or your income is derived by selling shares outside a pension wrapper (SIPP) or ISA as Sunak's is
1
@dianecameron137 I don't do the faux outrage the media tries to spin, the issue with the freebies is the rules all MP'S accept them my Lib-Dem mp was waxing lyrical about meeting local business leaders at the local 2nd division football club and getting hospitality at the WI. The stories by the right wing media are designed to ensure you don't look at what's really going on in detail and to create false equivalence. Starmer has a rich friend, Badenoch ran her campaign for leadership from a house donated for the task by a prominent fossil lobbyist now there's a proper story Quote Kemi Badenoch Manifesto Uses Climate Denial Group Research to Attack Net Zero The Tory candidate is running her campaign from the home of a prominent anti-green activist. And let's dig further Nigel Farage’s Reform Party Has Accepted £2.3 Million from Fossil Fuel Interests, Climate Deniers, and Polluters Since 2019 Election He received over 1 million last year from an offshore billionaire with ties to the fossil lobby through GBN
1
@dianecameron137 so my detailed reply was deleted here is a synopsis of how I feel about influence in politics The fossil lobby pour millions into the Cons through various means, this lead to delayed and abandoned insulation targets, renewable infrastructure cancelatons and an onshore wind ban plus delayed grid roll out costing the country and consumers 100's of billions in total over the energy crisis.
1
@dianecameron137 the fossil lobby are also pouring millions into reform by various means as well
1
CGT is taxing the elites
1
Who pays it? The bulk will be 2nd property owners and people like Sunak & Hu nt
1
The government create the money I the 1st place its not yours to start with
1
A chancellor that wants to balance the books for a change?
1
Which of the tax rises will affect you? The Tories ran a budget deficit for 14 years straight
1
I'm middle class I don't pay cgt Sunak and Hu nt do are they middle class? And why would you not pay public sector workers a decent wage or do you prefer the Tory way of wage suppression then filling the jobs with migrant labour? The words cake and eat it comes to mind
1
If you transfered them to an isa you won't pay CGT on them, which i did that's a 40k allowance per annum for my wife and i
1
@garygreen1782 just checked you have to sell and rebuy, your allowance is 12,500 gain per annum if you have a partner its x 2 You can use your annual allowance even if not putting it into an isa by selling and re-buying, went through this in 1990's been a long time memory is rusty
1
That was the Wilson days Tax base under Blair/Brown was 33%, under Cameron 33% It only started creeping up to what it is now 37% under Boris
